Summary
M-power Student Loan Pointer is an Android app in the Finance category from WILDAN DEVS, available on Google Play.
M-power Student Loan Pointer is an independent, unofficial Android app that explains no-cosigner education loans for international and DACA students in the United States and Canada, and runs the arithmetic on your own figures.
About this app
NOT A GOVERNMENT APP. M-power Student Loan Pointer is a study abroad loan guide, and that is all it is: an independent, unofficial guide and calculator. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any lender or government body, and it does not represent any government entity. It is for the stage before you borrow, when the question is whether a loan without a cosigner is available to you at all.
What the app does
- Runs a loan simulator and calculators on figures you type in yourself, so you can see an estimated instalment and total cost before you speak to any lender.
- Carries a guide to no-cosigner education loans for international and DACA students in the United States and Canada — the route for students with no U.S. credit history and no U.S. cosigner.
- Names the official U.S. government sources the government information in it is taken from: Federal Student Aid at the U.S. Department of Education, on federal student aid eligibility for non-U.S. citizens including DACA recipients; Study in the States, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, on the Form I-20, the SEVIS fee, student visas, proof of funds, work limits, CPT, OPT and Social Security numbers; and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, on DACA and employment authorisation documents.
What it does not do
The app does not offer loans and cannot be used to apply for a loan. It cannot process applications, cannot disburse funds, cannot check a status and cannot access any account. There is no account, no login and no personal data: nothing you type is sent anywhere, because none of the arithmetic needs to know who you are. It will never ask for a passport number, a Social Security number, a bank account number, a password or a one-time code, and you should never type any of those into a third-party app or site — only into an official channel you reached yourself. All figures are estimates for planning only: not a quotation, not an offer of credit, and not a statement of any balance.
This is an independent, unofficial planning tool, and brand names are used descriptively only. Read the official rules on federal student aid eligibility for non-U.S. citizens at https://studentaid.gov/understand-aid/eligibility/requirements/non-us-citizens , and make any actual application through the lender or the institution and its own official channel. The app is free and supported by adverts. Not financial, tax, immigration or legal advice.
What's new
- Bug fixes and performance improvements.
