About this app

IMPORTANT — THIS IS NOT A GOVERNMENT APP. (Paisa Boxx) Loan App Pointer is an independent, unofficial guide and calculator. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) or any government agency, ministry or department, and it does NOT represent any government entity. It is a plain-English guide to how personal loans work in India, with the arithmetic done for you.

What the app does

  • Simulation — sliders, filled in from the start: flat against reducing, full term against closing early.
  • EMI and APR — your instalment, and the all-in rate once fees and GST count.
  • Affordability — the instalment your income supports, and the loan that implies.
  • Charges — what a missed instalment adds, and whether closing early pays.
  • Schedule — the month-by-month split of interest and principal.
  • Eight chapters, 25 questions, 38 glossary terms and a 19-point checklist.

What it does not do

It is not a lender and not a broker. It does not offer loans and cannot be used to apply for a loan: it cannot submit or process an application, check a status, show a balance, disburse funds, sign you in or access any account. It collects no applicant details — no account, no sign-in, no personal data — and never asks for an Aadhaar number, a PAN, a bank account number, a password or an OTP. Never type those anywhere except an official channel you reached yourself. Figures shown are estimates for planning, not a quotation and not a statement of your balance.

Key facts about the programme

  • The money must come from a regulated entity — a bank or an NBFC on the RBI register. A loan app is usually only a service provider acting for one, so the first question is which regulated lender is behind it.
  • RBI's digital lending rules require a Key Fact Statement before signing, with the all-in Annual Percentage Rate, every charge, the recovery mechanism, and the grievance officer's details.
  • Disbursal and repayment move directly between your bank account and the regulated lender's account, with no pass-through or pool account in between.
  • A cooling-off period lets a borrower exit the loan by repaying the principal and the proportionate cost, without penalty.

This app is independent and unofficial; nothing in it is an application, an approval or an offer of credit. Rules change, so confirm before acting. Trademarks are used descriptively only. The one source it points to is the Reserve Bank of India, which publishes these lending rules: https://www.rbi.org.in/ . To borrow, apply with a bank or an RBI-registered NBFC through its own official channel. Not financial or legal advice.

Can I apply for a loan or get money inside the app?
No. It is not a lender and not a broker. It does not offer loans and cannot be used to apply for a loan. It cannot submit or process an application, disburse funds, check a status, show a balance, sign you in or access any account. It has no such feature. Borrowing is done with a bank or an RBI-registered NBFC through that lender own official channel.
Does the app need an account or my personal details?
No account, no sign-in, no personal data. It collects no applicant details and never asks for an Aadhaar number, a PAN, a bank account number, a password or an OTP, because no calculation in it needs them. Never enter those anywhere except an official channel you reached yourself.
Are the EMI and APR figures a quotation of what I will pay?
No. Figures shown are estimates for planning, not a quotation and not a statement of your balance. Your actual instalment, rate and charges are the ones written in the Key Fact Statement and the loan agreement given to you by the regulated lender.
Where are the official digital lending rules published?
By the Reserve Bank of India, the regulator that publishes the lending rules explained in the app, at https://www.rbi.org.in/ . Rules and amounts change, so confirm the current position at that source before acting on anything you read here.
