Summary
Fafsa Student Loan App Pointer is an Android app in the Finance category from Bekti Devs, available on Google Play.
Fafsa Student Loan App Pointer is an independent, unofficial Android app that explains the FAFSA form, the borrowing limits that took effect on 1 July 2026 and the two federal repayment plans, and runs offline calculators on your own figures.
About this app
Fafsa Student Loan App Pointer is an independent, unofficial guide and calculator set for the FAFSA form and U.S. federal student aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, or StudentAid.gov. The rules changed 1 July 2026 and most guides have not caught up, so the app explains the change in plain language and does the arithmetic with your own numbers.
What the app does
It opens on a simulator that is already filled in: a $31,000 balance on a $48,000 income, at the 2026-27 undergraduate rate. The two plans that now exist, the Repayment Assistance Plan and the Tiered Standard Plan, sit side by side. Four sliders move and both recalculate instantly, with a chart of what you would still owe each month. On that scenario the income-driven plan asks $110 less every month, but keeps you in repayment fifteen years longer and costs $8,932 more overall, with $9,268 written off at the end. One sentence under the numbers says which is which, in words.
Beyond the simulator there are nine calculators, one question each: how much you are allowed to borrow, what is left after an aid offer, what an income-driven payment would be, what the default plan costs, what the loan costs you each day, how much reaches your school once the origination fee is taken off the top, what the six months after graduation cost, and how far you are from the 120 payments PSLF requires. Each opens already filled in, recalculates as you move a control, and states the assumption behind the answer. There is no Calculate button anywhere.
The written side is twelve chapters, covering what the FAFSA form actually is, accounts, contributors and the consent rule that quietly disqualifies people, eligibility, dependent or independent status and the twelve questions that decide it, filling out the form section by section, federal, state and school deadlines, the route from the Student Aid Index to an aid offer, grants and work-study, subsidized and unsubsidized loans, borrowing limits after 1 July 2026, PLUS loans, and repayment under RAP, Tiered Standard and PSLF. Also inside: deadlines for all 73 states, territories and listed provinces for the 2026-27 form, searchable and filterable; an application checklist of 22 steps with the ones people get wrong flagged; 31 questions and answers; a glossary of 57 terms; and direct links to 15 official pages.
What it does not do
The app has no account, no sign-in and no server of its own. It cannot submit a FAFSA form, check a status, or see your aid record. It does not lend money, arrange loans, accept or process applications, disburse funds, or access any account of yours. Nothing you type into a calculator is stored or sent anywhere: those figures live only while the screen is open. It will never ask for your Social Security number, your FSA ID password, your bank details or a one-time code, and nothing outside the official site should be asking you for them either.
Key facts about the programme
- From 1 July 2026 a lifetime borrowing cap of $257,500 applies, and nothing reopens it.
- Grad PLUS loans closed to new borrowers.
- Parent PLUS is limited to $20,000 a year and $65,000 per child.
- Anyone with a loan disbursed from that date repays under one of exactly two plans: the Repayment Assistance Plan or the Tiered Standard Plan.
- Every rate, limit and rule was taken from studentaid.gov in August 2026 and applies to the 2026-27 award year: 6.52% undergraduate, 8.07% graduate, 9.07% PLUS, fees of 1.057% and 4.228%, and a maximum Pell Grant of $7,395.
- Where the Department publishes no formula, such as the Student Aid Index and the Pell payment schedule, the app asks you for the number instead of inventing one.
This is an independent reference and planning tool, nothing more. Figures move between award years, so verify the current ones on studentaid.gov. Apply for federal student aid only at studentaid.gov, which is free, and give your identifying details, bank details and passwords to that site alone. FAFSA is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Education.
